At some point, emails and video calls were not enough for us. We wanted to see everything with our own eyes.

So we flew to China to visit our menstrual cup and disc manufacturing partners.

Not for a quick factory tour from a distance. We wanted to be involved. We wanted to understand exactly how our reusable menstrual products were made, how our molds were created, and who was behind the machines that help create our award winning patents and designs.  

That meant scrubbing up, putting on cleanroom garments, and stepping behind the curtain at the factories that turn our designs into real products.

Inside the facility, we watched our manufacturing partners in action. Their equipment, technology, and precision were genuinely impressive. The machines used in menstrual cup mold creation are highly specialized, and seeing them at work gave us a whole new appreciation for the craftsmanship behind each product.

When the mold is right, everything that comes after it is right too.

And one thing stood out immediately. The environment was clean, organized, and carefully maintained. The staff were well equipped, well trained, and clearly valued in their roles. It was not the chaotic scene some people imagine when they hear the word factory. It was a professional, high standard operation focused on precision and quality.

Seeing it in person reinforced something we already believed. The people behind the product matter just as much as the product itself.

From Idea to Prototype (And Then Probably Another Prototype)

Once a need is identified, our product development team gets to work.

Ideas start on paper, then move into 3D printing. We test, adjust, and reprint until the design feels right. Sometimes that means dozens of versions. We are okay with that.

This stage is where menstrual cup comfort, disc usability, and real life performance come together. And it is never rushed.

Where the Magic Gets Molded  

When a design is ready, it is sent to our manufacturing partners to create a sample mold. That mold is tested and refined before a final production mold is created. This process alone can take up to 30 days.

Once the final mold is approved, mass production begins. Pixie stays involved throughout the menstrual cup manufacturing and menstrual disc manufacturing process to ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy.

Where Good isn't Good Enough.

Products then go through in person unboxing and inspection. Only after passing that inspection do they move to our warehouses, ready to ship to customers.

From the first idea to a product arriving at your door, the process can take six months to several years.
